Star Wars: The Force Awakenes 2015

Out with Lucas and in with Abrams, a very good decision. J.J Abrams managed to resurrect the Star Trek franchise with Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and has now done the same thing to Star Wars. Now we don’t have to sit trough boring sequences with conversations about politics like in Episode 1, 2 and 3, but what we get in return is some impressive action scenes and characters we actually care about. A pretty interesting story that continues the Star Wars saga and introduces a set of new characters like Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) Kylo Ren (Adam Driver and BB-8 and some old like Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), Leia (Carrie Fisher), C-3PO, R2-D2 and Luke Skywalker. The story is good but the main villain in the movie is underdeveloped and doesn’t appear threatening enough, which hurt the movie a little. The newcomers really impresses me, specially Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac. Otherwise this is an impressive comeback for Star Wars and I look forward to more movies from this franchise.

Score: 8/10
