The Revenant 2015
The Revenant is directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and includes a cast of very talented actors, like Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter. Shot on beautiful and remote location by the two-time academy award winner Emmanuel Lubezki, this is certainly an impressive piece of film and my favourite from 2015. Alejandro has really outdone himself in this western drama-thriller. Aaccompanied with truly stunning cinematography from Chivo (Emmanuel Lubezki), who will surely get his third oscar in a row and solid performances from the cast, specially DiCaprio and Hardy help translate the story of Hugh Glass onto the big screen. The beginning battle, the bear attack and the final battle are sequences that really shines but the movie as a whole really manages to describe the struggle and fighting of Hugh Glass as he recover from his near-death experience. You feel his struggle all over your body and that is because of Alejandros masterful direction but mainly from DiCaprios superb acting and if he doesnt win the oscar for this role, there is something really wrong with the academy. Shot in all natural light and in remote and often difficult locations, The Revenant manages to give us stunning images, a good story, superb acting, art in a tolerable amount and action in a masterpiece of a movie like you never seen before.
